Check out a Power Check Energy Meter provided by Xcel Energy for Carver County Library customers. Identify high-energy appliances at home or office and reduce energy usage.
Each meter comes in a protective carrying case and includes:
- An energy meter manual and a booklet with home-energy assessment instructions.
- A USB cable to download usage-tracking information.
The meters may be checked out for one 3 week loan period.

Volunteers are needed to teach adults computer basics at Chaska, Watertown, Waconia, and Norwood Young America libraries. Classes are typically 1-2 hours in length, offered once a week, and limited to two students. As a volunteer you will need good, basic computer skills. This is a great opportunity to interact with others who are curious and excited to learn the benefits of technology. Complete lesson plans and training are provided.
